An evening of music and community. July 20 (Thursday) @ 6:30pm – Arts Center East is hosting the 4th annual Ekphrastic Extravaganza: Art & Poetry at the Arts Center East Eureka Gallery at 709 Hartford Turnpike in Vernon. There will be a reception and reading. Free and open to the public. August 2 (Wednesday) @ 6:30pm – Poetry: Find Your Voice! Interactive poetry reading. 3-minute time slot to share your poetry or a poem that inspires you. Reading is optional. Free to attend; registration required. August 5 (Saturday) @ 7-11pm – The Underground Invitational Poetry Slam at Lynon’s Restaurant & Bar, 2151 State Street, Hamden. $25 admission. 11 of the top poets compete for a $1,250 cash prize. About Us:The Poets' Salon is an all-inclusive group that gets together the second Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m in the Memorial Room at the Fairfield Public Library.
